Refueling at Vanga

The welcoming committee

View of the hospital from the room we work in

This old monster still gets the job done, but it has to be push started.

Lukenie River

No alarm clocks necessary.

They make their own IV solutions at the hospital.

Hamdmade instruments jam session. One guy plays
the strings, sounds like a base, and the other guy is
playing the body like drum.

Those yellow plastic containers hold about 20-25 liters
and weigh 40-50 lbs

A guy saw me taking pictures and asked me to take a
picture of these three women.

The new ATV makes its entry into Kole. The Congolese call it a quad. This picture has the look and feel of a devivery room photograph

I see a lot like this and variations on it in Kole,
I think it's really cool.
